ABOUT OUR OWNER

An Advocate for Water Safety, Committed to Expanding Access to Life-saving Swim Education.

Aquatics & Education was founded in 2022 by Brooke Bothun, a lifelong swimmer, educator, and dedicated drowning prevention advocate who was born and raised in Florida. Growing up surrounded by Florida’s waterways, Brooke developed an early appreciation for the importance of water safety and the critical role swimming plays in protecting children and families. With this mission in mind, she established Aquatics & Education to provide community-centered swim instruction and expand access to life-saving water safety education throughout Brevard County. Since its founding, the swim school has grown through strong partnerships with schools, public safety agencies, health organizations, and community programs dedicated to protecting children around water.

Her background as both an educator and aquatic professional allows her to blend teaching, safety education, and skill development into a comprehensive learning experience for students.


Brooke is an active leader in the aquatic industry and serves in several professional roles, including Vice President of the Florida Swims Foundation and Water Safety Chair for the Brevard Coordinated Child Safety Initiative. She also contributes nationally through the Association of Aquatic Professionals, where she has served on education and drowning prevention committees and has been a speaker during national aquatic conferences. 

Her work in water safety advocacy has been recognized through multiple professional honors, including the Community Service Award from the Florida Swimming Pool Association and Aquatic Professional of the Month. Through Aquatics & Education, Brooke has also secured national grants to expand access to swim lessons.


Above all, Brooke remains passionate about the mission that inspired Aquatics & Education: helping children build confidence in the water while equipping families with the knowledge and skills needed to stay safe. She believes that every child deserves the opportunity to learn how to swim and develop lifelong water safety skills.
